Housing

The municipality will assist with your first housing

When the municipality and immigration authorities have agreed that you can settle in the municipality, the Resettlement Team will provide suitable housing.

You should expect that the housing is located outside the city center, but there will be bus connections.

The housing is furnished and equipped with the essentials. If you feel that you need more furniture or equipment, you will have to acquire them yourself.

The municipality or the landlord owns the furniture.

You are responsible for paying rent, electricity, and internet yourself. The municipality covers rent and electricity until you receive introduction salary.

The Resettlement Team will assist you in applying for housing support. This is a subsidy for rent and electricity payments.

If you wish to move to another housing, you will have to do it on your own. The municipality does not help with moving or transportation. You must give a three-month notice before moving out, and you must notify the National Population Register of your move. The housing should be emptied and cleaned before you move out.

On the resettlement day, someone from the Resettlement Team will meet you and take you to a grocery store so that you can do some shopping, and then you will be taken to the housing. There, you will receive more practical information.
