Leisure
Enjoy the nature, the activities and create a social network
In order to thrive and feel a sense of belonging in a new place, it's important to build a network of friends and acquaintances.
This can be challenging as Norwegians may not be easy to get to know. However, once you truly get to know someone, you can have a lifelong friend.
So how do you build a network of friends and acquaintances? You need to be active and open to initiating contact. "No one will come knocking on your door - you have to knock on theirs."
The easiest way to get to know someone is by participating in an activity that is organized and occurs regularly. For example, joining the local football team, dance group, yoga class, etc.
This applies to both adults and children!
The Integration Unit grants a leisure subsidy of until 1250 NOK per child per semester if the child's parents are in the introduction program, when it is an organized group activity, and after submitted subsidy application with a receipt of your expences attached to it.
